National Cadet Corps (NCC)

College has its NCC (National Cadet Corps) battalion for the students of the college which has its aim to develop character, comradeship, discipline, a secular outlook, the spirit of adventure and ideals of selfless service among youths. NCC is creating a pool of organized, trained and motivated youth with leadership qualities in all the ways of life. It also provides an environment conducive to motivating young Indians to join the armed forces.

Motto of NCC

The need for having motto for the Corps was discussed in the 11th Central Advisory Committee (CAC) meeting held on 11 Aug 1978. The mottos suggested were “Duty and Discipline”; “Duty, Unity and Discipline”; “Duty and Unity”; “Unity and Discipline”. The final decision for selection of “Unity and Discipline” as motto for the NCC was taken in the 12th CAC meeting held on 12 Oct 1980.

 

Establishment of NCC Unit in Our College

  • NCC Unit Boys came into existence in 1954
  • Our boys Unit in affiliated to 21 Maharashtra Battalion Wardha
  • NCC Unit have senior Division
  • As per the letter NCC DG office issued during 2004-05 out of total 52 Cadets 30% of seats are reserved for Woman in SW of NCC

Eligibility Conditions 

(a) Citizen of India or a subject of Nepal.
(b) Bearing good moral character.
(c) Enrolled in an educational institution.
(d) Meets the prescribed medical standards.
(e) Enrolment Period

  • Senior Division/Wing (Boys/Girls) – 3 years

 

Certificates

  • After two years of training – ‘B’ Certificate
  • After three years of training – ‘C’ Certificate

Use of B & C Certificate: C certificates holders can directly join the Defence forces as officers. Preference is given to B & C certificate holders in Defence Services, Police services, Para-Military forces, Fire forces, BSF, Territorial Army, Industrial Security Forces, Public Sectors, and all uniform services.
